Information systems have taken a central role in the daily operations of businesses and most organizations rely on the effective use of these systems to operate efficiently. Business professionals need to have basic grounding in the key concepts of information systems and its related technologies to be able to exercise the duties effectively.

Along with that, this course provides the basic concepts of information systems, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the role of information systems in business functional areas. This subject also aims to expose students to the social, security and ethical issues related to information systems and ICT.
