Kindly to inform, as per agreed and approved by DHU Disaster Management Committee (DMC), we have established a Telegram Channel for the student and staff to get information and update regarding the flood. The channel name is DHU Flood Information Channel (FIC). As we are entering a monsoon season now, it must for us to have a proper medium of communication so that everybody is informed about the latest information. Based on Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia), the Northeast Monsoon is expected to start from 10 November 2016 and continuously until March 2017. Usually, during this season there will be a heavy rain and will cause flood especially state in Peninsular Malaysia (Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan).
Therefore, communication and information is very important in this situation to avoid any issue. Telegram is chosen because it can support thousands of users compared to WhatsApp which can only support maximum up to 256 users for the Group and Broadcast List.
